CASAA Academic Opportunities Award

The Colleges of Arts & Sciences Alumni Association (CASAA) was established in 1993 to “serve as a valuable link between the Colleges and the community in promoting awareness and appreciation of, and pride in, the lifetime value of a liberal arts education obtained from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.”

In order to encourage undergraduate students in their pursuit of a liberal arts education, the Colleges of Arts & Sciences Alumni Association has established the CASAA Academic Opportunities Award. Funding is provided to undergraduate students for projects they undertake projects out of the state of Hawai‘i that enhance or further their academic study. Examples of fundable projects include conference participation, study abroad, and conducting research. Maximum award is $1,500.


  • At least 18 years old
  • Graduate of a Hawai‘i high school
  • Resident of the state of Hawai‘i
  • Full-time junior or senior at UH Mānoa with a declared Arts and Sciences major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Some degree of financial need
  • Already received or intend to receive 50% of the undergraduate degree requirements from UH Mānoa
