The Winter issue each year is a guest-edited Special Issue that explores a topic of emerging critical interest, and each volume also offers insightful reviews, concise excerpts of reviews published elsewhere, and an annual bibliography of works about biography. The journal is a member of the Council of Editors of Learned Journals (CELJ), and is available in both print format and electronically through Project Muse.
“Indigenous Conversations about Biography,” (vol. 39, no. 3) special issue guest edited by Alice Te Punga Somerville, Daniel Heath Justice, and Noelani Arista, won the 2017 Council of Editors of Learned Journals Best Special Issue Award for 2016.
“(Post)Human Lives,” (vol. 35, no. 1) special issue guest edited by Gillian Whitlock, received the Best Special Issue prize in 2012.
