Singelis, Theodore [Ted] (M.A., 1992)
Ted is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of California at Chico. He completed his Ph.D. in Psychology in 1995 at the Unviersity of Hawai‘i. He has accumulated a number of awards and honors: He was named a “Founding Fellow” at the International Academy for Intercultural Research’s inaugural meeting at California State University, Fullerton in1998; He received an Academic Research Enhancement Award ($131,000 over three years) from the National Institute on Aging in 2001 for the study titled, “Self, Health and Life Satisfaction among Mexican Americans.” The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Funded this award. Since graduating from UH, Dr. Waxwood also served on the faculty of Hawai‘i Pacific College, Seattle University, Loras College in Iowa, University of Guam, and the University of Maryland Overseas Program.
