Dr. Min-Sun Kim (Professor) received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1992. She received her B.A. degree from Ewha Women’s University University in Korea, and her M.A. degree from the University of Maryland. She served as the Chair of the Intercultural and Development Communication Division of the International Communication Association and the President of the Korean American Communication Association. She is the author of Multicultural perspectives on human communication: Implications for theory and practice(2002). Her research has focused on the role of cognition in conversational styles among people of different cultural orientations. She has written on requesting styles, re-requesting styles, communication motivation, conflict management, deception, health behaviors in various cultural contexts, and the influence of the self on many other communication behaviors.
