Department of Communicology Service Award

Selection Criteria
This award recognizes students whose service to the field of Speech Communication has been meritorious. These contributions may include, but are not limited to, excellence in service related to speech communication to the Department of Communicology, at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, and/or in the community.

Eligibility
A student is eligible for the Department of Communicology Service Award if he or she is a full-time student at UHM, majoring in Communicology, regardless of undergraduate class standing (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior).

Award
The award provides $250.00 toward tuition at UHM for one semester provided that the student is enrolled full-time, he or she is in good academic standing, and the funds are available.

Selection Procedures 
A nomination form for this award may be submitted by faculty member(s) in the Department of Communicology, undergraduate students, or self-nomination. Each nominee will be asked to complete and submit a Nominee Information Form (see below). The committee will determine the nominee(s) that best meets all criteria. In the event that no nominee clearly meets the criteria, as determined by the Awards Committee, no award will be given that year.

Notification of Award
The chair of the Awards Committee shall notify the nominee(s) of the Committee’s decision within three weeks of the Nominee Information Form deadline.
