My favorite thing about UH Center at West Hawaiʻi is… the small campus atmosphere. I feel at home and know everybody here.
My hobbies and interests are… cooking and spending time with my kids at the beach.
If you came to visit my study space at home you would see… a desk surrounded by a wall of cookbooks of all kinds of cuisine – Asian, American, Hawaiian, different countries, and especially patisserie and dessert cookbooks. My poster board shows my research in progress, and a list of the 10 commandments of a Chef, which Chef instructor Paul Heerlein gives to all of his students.
I like the Big Island because… it is rural enough to be peaceful and quite, yet has lots going on for people interested in the food and the culinary world.
In my free time I like to… cook, cook, and cook! I love to bake cakes and desserts.
