HawCC Middle College at Spirit Farm, by Trina Nahm-Mijo, Psychology Instructor

Hawaiʻi Community College Middle College students at “Spirit Farm” located at Umauma on the Big Island do sustainability project-based learning, which earns them dual credit (high school and college) in an award-winning program.  Besides academic credit, they learn workforce development skills in digital media, entrepreneurship and business practices.  The Middle College program is one way of increasing Achieving the Dream outcomes.
