Kauhale Message

The “Spirit of Community” here at Hawai`i Community College has gotten noticed by our UH-System colleagues and administrators, as well as by community leaders from around the world.  The spirit of Hawai`i Community College Kauhale is often experienced by the transformative manner in which we greet our local and global guest, and this would be through the Kīpaepae[1], or Traditional Protocols postured on deep global connections.  Stepping into our Kauhale Academic Village is stepping into the Spirit of Community!

Ms. Carol Lincoln[2], Senior Vice President & National Conference Coordinator of Achieving the Dream (ATD), has experienced this spirit of Kauhale and has inivited HawCC to present the Final Keynote Address on “The Transformative Role of Community Spirit in Student Success” this February, 2012 at the ATD National Conference, Dallas, Texas. She estimates close to 2,000 U.S. college professionals will be in attendance.

Keep up the goodwork!

Dr. Taupōuri Tangarō

Kauhale Academic Villlage- Acting Director
