On December 15, 2011, a Kīpaepae was held for Mike Leialoha in recognition of his retirement. Staff, faculty, students and members of the general public gathered together to convey their gratitude for the work he has done and for the man that he is. One by one, Mike was showered with leis, hugs, handshakes and words of appreciation. Even the skies expressed their appreciation to him by allowing the sun to bathe the attendees in the warmth that he conveyed every day. After more than 20 years of public service, Mike has joined the ranks of the retired.
