Carly Vierra, a Hawaii Community College Nursing student, was recently awarded a Cross Cultural Solutions/Harris Wofford Global Service Fellowship by Community Colleges for International Development(CCID). In addition to the fellowship, the Honda International Opportunities Fund is awarding each of the seven UHCC students chosen for the Wofford Fellowship, including Ms. Vierra, additional grants to cover travel expenses to their destination countries.
Students awarded the Wofford Global Service Fellowship may choose from 12 different volunteer projects being carried out in 11 different countries. Carly has decided to join the project in Capetown, South Africa, where she will work in a health care program for three months this summer. Congratulations, Carly!
