Here are the latest renderings of the yet-to-be-built Palamanui Campus from the architectural firm Urban Works.
The development of the Hawaii Community College – Palamanui Campus has been in the works for years but took a concrete step forward in November.
The state opened the bidding process for the first phase of construction for the West Hawaii campus that will be located north of Kona International Airport.
Contractors were invited to submit bids to build an approximately 24,000 square-foot campus that will house the Culinary Arts Program, Nursing and Allied Health Program, and Student Services Administration.
The buildings will include new classrooms, learning kitchens, science laboratories and related support spaces.
Bids are due Dec. 12, they are scheduled to be opened Dec. 14, and construction is expected to begin in spring of 2013.
