After more than seven years as the Records and Internal Data Management Office’s Office Assistant, Ellen Tateishi (the one wearing all the na lei) retired on October 29, 2010.

Ellen Tateishi, former Records Office clerk, colleague and beloved friend, passed away in January 2012. The Ellen Tateishi Memorial Scholarship was established in her honor and this Spring 2013 semester four students will each receive a one-time scholarship of $400 to support them in achieving their academic goals. These students exemplify the qualities Ellen valued most and demonstrated in her life — dedication, integrity and a willingness to work hard to overcome challenges. Congratulations and E ‘Imi Pono! Harmony Mariani, Kara Nelson, Brenda Akao, Marcy Martinez.
