Annual year-end celebration in West Hawai’i features food and holiday music

The faculty and staff at UH Center, West Hawai’i held their annual “End of the Year Celebration” potluck luncheon on Friday, December 7th in the Center Courtyard.

Assistant Professor of English Steve Cline celebrates his retirement at the “End of the Year Celebration” in West Hawai’i.

Everyone enjoyed the wonderful cuisine that the talented UHCWH faculty and staff brought to the feast. Then Media Specialist Chuck Connors and Media Design & Production Specialist Alan Hale entertained with their guitar and ukulele, playing renditions of familiar holiday songs.

Assistant Professor Stephen “Steve” Cline, faculty for the English Department, was recognized and honored on this occasion as he celebrated his retirement. Steve joined the faculty of Hawai’i Community College 10 years ago, teaching a range of English courses (English 100,102, 22, 20W, 204 and 257). His specialty has been his wonderful work with creative writing students. Cline also participated in the creation of a student literary journal. He is known at the college and around town as a musician, writer and surfer.

Food was plentiful at the annual “End of the Year Celebration” in West Hawai’i on December 7th.
