Ha’akūmalae Events Announcements

Haʻakūmalae is the official orchestration of Hawaiʻ i protocols leadership at Hawaiʻ i Community College and the University of Hawaiʻ i at Hilo’s Kīpuka Native Hawaiian Student Center. As an active member in our Hawaiʻi Community College and Hawaiʻi Island Community there are many opportunities and events for engagement in these activities.

Hawaiʻi Life Styles Annual Fall Hōʻike 2012

As a culmination of the Fall semester the Hawaiʻi Life Styles (HLS) Program hosts an annual Fall Hōʻike for their students enrolled in HLS courses. This oppurtunity is presented for students to gather and share their learning with family, friends, faculty, & staff. This years Hō’ike was held on Thursday, December 6th, 2012.

Kīpaepae Welina: Community College Leadership Council

Hawai`i Community College will be hosting a meeting of the Community College Leadership Council this year. In preparation for this visit and as a reflection of our Kauhale, the Council was welcomed in true Haʻakūmalae fashion with a kīpaepae welina.

Hawaiʻi Community College Kīpaepae Welina 2013

As an official form of welcome extended to Hawaiʻi Community Collegeʻs new/incoming students for the Spring 2013 semester Student Life and Haʻakūmalae collaborated to provide an early morning welcoming experience. This event extended to Passport participation for students and included early morning refreshments provided by Student Life.
