As the saying goes: “Some do. Some teach. The best do both.”
The “11 Voices, East Hawaii Art Faculty Show” at the Hawai’i Museum of Contemporary Arts (formerly the East Hawai’i Cultural Center) showcases the works of 11 art instructors teaching in East Hawai’i. They come from the four corners of the world: Asia, Europe, the continent, and Hawai’i.
Join instructors Tobias Brill, Kevin Diminyatz, GB Hajim, Meidor Hu, Monika Mann, Daniel Miller, Violet Murakami, Randall Shiroma, Kaori Ukaji, Sally Renee Visaya and Glenn Yamanoha as they showcase their latest works using animation, assemblage, clay, collage, installation, mixed-media, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and video.
The show opens Sept. 6 with a reception from 5:30 – 9 p.m. and runs through the Sept. 25. The HMoCA is open Mon. – Sat. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., 141 Kalakaua St. 961-5711.
