Diesel, Auto Body students collaborate on project

The training aide built by students in Diesel Mechanics and painted by Auto Body Repair and Painting students.

Students in Hawai‘i Community College’s Diesel Mechanics Program recently built a forward differential training aide.

The unit was delivered to Auto Body Repair and Painting and prepared and painted by the students in that program under the supervision of Garrett Fujioka.

The unit will be used during the DIMC- 43, 44, & 50 drivelines, differentials and air brake operational theory and how the systems function.

The students will learn how to disassemble and reassemble the differential and brake assembly and make all proper adjustments following the manufacturer guidelines and specifications.

All of the parts and paint were donated to HawCC, and the present and future students will benefit from this collaboration project.

Mahalo to Garrett and the Auto Body Repair and Painting students for doing a great job!
