Hawai‘i Community College Diesel Mechanics students rebuilt this Caterpillar 3406B diesel engine that came out of a D8N Dozer and are using it as a training aide for the DIMC-20 (Introduction to Diesel Engines).

The Auto Body Repair and Painting (ABRP) students prepared and painted this training aide with instructor Garrett Fujioka assisting them through the process.

The yellow paint and reducer was donated from Hawthorne Pacific Corp-Hilo, which helped make this project so successful. Darrell Miyashiro and his Machine Welding and Industrial Mechanics students helped with some special welding and fabrication to finish off this collaboration project between the shops.

Mahalo to Garrett (ABRP) and Darrell (MWIM) for their joint venture and making this possible!
