Funds awarded to explore study abroad partnership in Ireland

Pam Scheffler and Elizabeth Niemeyer were awarded funds by the Institute of Study Abroad Ireland to participate in a familiarization trip with hopes of developing a study abroad program for Hawai’i CC students.  They will use this visit to plan a program that focuses on the cultural and biological similarities and differences between the islands of Hawai’i and Ireland. These efforts are intended to expand international opportunities to Hawai’i CC students, and is part of a larger, multi-faceted approach to internationalize our campus and increase students’ understanding of global issues.
