Hawaiʻi Community Collegeʻs Financial Aid Office

Students can now enjoy a renovated counterspace at the Financial Aid Office.

The Financial Aid Office (FAO) has updated its reception counter and waiting area.  Please stop by and see the newly renovated front office with its FAFSA peer advisor station.

For the 2011-12 academic year, the FAO has processed over 4,300 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) applications and awarded more than 2,700 students.  Approximately 10 million in grants, loans and scholarships has been awarded as of the beginning of August.

Since the 2006-07 academic year, the FAO has increased the amount of aid awarded to all students by 362%, and the amount awarded to Native Hawaiian students has increased by 457%.  The total number of students receiving aid has increased by 206%, and the number of Native Hawaiian students receiving aid has increased by 242%.

USA Funds nominated the FAO for an Excellence in Debt Management Award for its creative efforts in lowering the college’s student loan default rate.
