According to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center, hurricane season for us in Hawai`i runs from June 1 through November 30, the peak activity occurs from July to September. Since we are on an island, in the Pacific it is really important we are prepared. Keep in mind the difference between a Hurricane Storm Watch and a Warning. They are as follows:
Hurricane/Tropical Storm Watch
Hurricane/tropical storm conditions are possible in the specified area, usually within 36 hours. Tune in to NOAA Weather Radio, commercial radio, or television for information.
Hurricane/Tropical Storm Warning
