Learning Centers Available in Hilo and West Hawai ‘i

As a student, you will face many learning opportunities to accomplish your education here at Hawai‘i Community College. In order to meet those learning opportunities, you will need to know what resources are available to you. The West Hawai‘i Learning and Testing Center, The Learning Center,  and the Hale Kea Advancement and Testing Center are three of those resources.

In West Hawaii, the Library offers:

Placement Testing
· Computer Use and
Study Area
· Tutoring in Writing
and Math

The hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:15 pm.

The Learning Center, also known as TLC, is located on the upper campus of the UH Hilo, ground floor of the Mo ‘okini Library, across from the Kanaka‘ole Hall (also known as the K Building).
Hours are 8 am – 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday (except for holidays).

The Learning Center offers computer usage for:
· Checking email
· Doing research
· Writing papers
The Learning Center also offers tutoring to help you in the following areas:
· ESL
· Math
· Reading
· Writing
The Learning Center also offers make-up testing.

Hale Kea Advancement and Testing Center is located on the Manono Campus, Building 387 and is also open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:15 pm. At Hale Kea Advancement and Testing Center,  the following services are available to you:

· Make-up Testing
· Distance Education
Testing
· Computer Use and
Study Area
· Tutoring in Writing
and Math
