Hawai’i Community College’s New Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs: Mr. Jason Cifra

Please join us as we welcome Hawaiʻi Community Collegeʻs New Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Mr. Jason Cifra.

Mr. Jason Cifra is a graduate of Maui Community College and University of Hawaiʻi Hilo. He holds an  M.A. in Professional Counseling.  Previously,  Jason was the Director of Student Services and Special Projects at the College of Southern Nevada and has served as Director of Counseling.

He has eight years of experience in Student and Academic Affairs in areas of advising/counseling, articulation, curriculum, catalog, scholarships, retention and graduation initiatives, student activities, policies, and technology.  His interests include mentoring, professional development, and innovative use of technology in higher education.

Now a message from Vice Chancellor Mr. Jason Cifra…

Aloha E Na Haumana,

Welcome to all our new and continuing students.  This Spring 2012 semester, I am also starting new with you at Hawai’i Community College.  Together, I hope that we have a fun and successful term, one that brings you closer to graduation, transfer, or to a new career.

Remember that you are not alone in this journey.  You have the support of the staff of the Division of Student Affairs. Take advantage of the services and expertise available to you!  Part of a well-rounded student experience is your participation in events and workshops.  These activities are designed to help you succeed, as well as, for your enjoyment.  Notices of events, scholarships, and other important information will be sent to your email. So please check your email regularly.

Lastly, I want to express my sincerest Mahalo to the Hawaii Community College family for the warm welcome.  Have a great semester!
