Mānoa’s Kennedy Theatre presents When the Cassowary Pooped! Oct. 2–4 based on the book of the same name written by Professor Tamara Montgomery, Jodi Belknap and illustrated by Professor Joseph Dodd. The show is a humorous and intriguing story about a very large endangered bird whose feeding habits create a tropical rainforest habitat for an assortment of birds, mammals and insects in New Guinea.
The production is filled with magical effects, colorful costumes and even more colorful characters including a large Cassowary bird puppet, do-wopping frogs, fanciful birds of paradise, a hip-hopping kangaroo, a fruit bat, a pinching coconut crab and a pidgin speaking storyreader.
