President Addresses Legislature in Historic Session
UH President M.R.C. Greenwood will address a joint session of the Hawaiʻi State Legislature at noon on Feb. 3. It is the first time a UH president has addressed a joint session of the Legislature.
Examining Asteroid Color
Mānoa Associate Astronomer Schelte Bus and Astronomer Alan Tokunaga are members of an international team who set out to understand why some asteroids have colors different from those of others.
Protein Folding Research Funded
The National Science Foundation has awarded a three-year research grant of $842,000 to Mānoa to support investigations of enzyme-mediated protein folding in plants and for outreach education in the plant molecular biosciences.

Keith Amemiya was appointed interim executive administrator and secretary of the Board of Regents, Greg Grandin was appointed Mānoa Dai Ho Chun Distinguished Chair in Arts and Science, and Professor Constantinos S. Papacostas was appointed chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
