*Please note that the following 4 resources will be UPDATED with the NEW UH contract, guidelines for tenure and promotion, Appendix A & B, when they are fully signed and uploaded to the Vice Chancellor’s Office. That is expected to happen in the second week of August, 2017

Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
The VCAA’s office oversees T&P for the university.  Informational workshops held each fall for faculty who will be applying for tenure and/or promotion.  All application forms and instructions available at this site.

UH Faculty Mentoring Program
A service of the Office of Faculty Development and Academic Support (OFDAS).  The faculty mentoring program pairs new faculty with senior faculty to provide support.

Center for Teaching Excellence’s Dossier Series
Video archive of past sessions.  Video titles include a special event for specialists, composing the narrative, and constructing the CV.

Dossier Library
The Center for Teaching Excellence has a hard copy library of dossiers from faculty who have succeeded in the tenure and promotion process.  The CTE is located in Kuykendall Hall 107, hours 8:00-4:30pm, Mon-Fri (excluding holidays)

The UHPA is the exclusive bargaining agent for all faculty members of the University System including instructors, professors, librarians, specialists, extension agents, and researchers.  Faculty represented by UHPA are collectively referred to as Bargaining Unit 7. UHPA assists with the negotiation of the faculty contract and ensures that the terms of the contract are enforced and the rights of faculty members are protected.
