Aloha! This web site provides information about one of the most exciting development projects on Hawai‘i Island. Hawai‘i Community College — Pālamanui is a new branch campus that is planned for beautiful Kona, on a site just inland of the Kona International Airport.
With a rich array of classes in culinary arts, nursing, Hawaiian culture, business, liberal arts, and more, Pālamanui will be a vibrant and essential resource for those who call West Hawai‘i home.
West Hawai‘i is the only remaining major geographic area and population center in the state of Hawai‘i that does not have a permanent facility for higher education. Hawai‘i Community College currently administers the University Center, West Hawai‘i, which is located in leased facilities in Kealakekua. The new site at Pālamanui will be Hawai‘i Community College’s permanent home on the west side of Hawai‘i Island and will increase access to quality, affordable higher education.
To view a current list of academic and degree programs, visit Hawai’i Community College & UH Center, West Hawai’i website.
Pālamanui means “Foundation of Profound Enlightenment,” and that’s what the new campus will be.
Mahalo for visiting!
