The UH Commission on the Status of Women is remarkable in that it is representative of the university both throughout the system geographically and across various university roles—students, support staff, professional staff, faculty, administrators.

At a recent lunch for the commission at College Hill, I was pleased to welcome the 2011–2012 officers. They are Chair Stephanie Kim, director of government relations for the UH System, and Vice Chairs Debra Ishii, executive assistant to the Mānoa chancellor, and Wendy Sora, a specialist in Mānoa’s Career Development and Student Employment office.
