Personal Statement
Volunteering in a public health laboratory during my high school years sparked my interest in public health.  I always had a desire to learn more about the immunopathogenicity of infectious diseases.  The goal was full-filled by being accepted in the Department of Tropical Medicine, Medical Microbiology and Pharmacology.  My research interest is investigating how campylobacter causes diarrhea.  My skills and experiences include applied and molecular microbiology techniques, mapping with Arc-GIS, and SPSS.  I am a registered microbiologist [RM].  I also have a Hawaii clinical laboratory specialist and a Hawaii clinical laboratory director license.
