Dr. Darrell Kirch, President of the Association of American Medical Colleges, was keynote speaker for the Class of 2011 Convocation Ceremony at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. He reminded Hawai’i’s newest physicians to always remember that “social justice” is a tenet of medicine; that they should always do what they can to care for those underserved in our community.
Dr. Kirch also got a knowing laugh from the students and audience, when he described one of the greatest moments for a physician-in-training: to “catch the baby.” Hear the story in this video clip. Mahalo, Dr. Kirch!
