MAHALO, JABSOM ALUMNI! Second-year MD students “connect” with alumni to raise more than $19,000

The 4th Annual JABSOM MD Alumni Phonathon raised more than $19,970 in pledges to the medical school by John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) alumni. The total is expected to grow further from pledges still being received in the mail.

Yvonne Lum, 2nd year medical student, connects with an MD Alum during the calling campaign’s first weekend.

About 30 of our second-year MD students spent two Sundays calling our graduates nationwide to ask for their support.

Alumni are able to direct their donations to one of the medical school’s priority funds for the year, or to the fund of their choice! For follow-up questions, please call our Alumni Relations Office at (808) 692-0991, or by email to elaine.evans @uhfoundation.org

Medical Student Be Thi Ho concentrates on her conversation with MD alums who have walked a mile or more in her shoes before!

Our main photograph shows Kyla Teramoto and Yvonne Lum making calls. The photos were taken in the Medical Education Building at JABSOM by Elaine Evans of the JABSOM Alumni and Development Office. Mahalo, students, for giving up most of your Sunday to give our alumni a call. They really loved hearing from you!
