The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) joins Hawai`i and a grateful nation in mourning the death of a true American hero, U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye, (D-Hawai`i).

Said JABSOM Dean Jerris R. Hedges, “Senator Inouye was a strong advocate for improving access to health care in our State, particularly in our rural and neighbor island locations. He also helped our State provide opportunities for our young people to pursue careers in nursing, social work, public health, pharmacy and medicine. We will be forever grateful for his leadership and support.”
