The top Trojan in Universty of Southern California Medicine, Carmen A. Puliafito, MD, paid a call on the top medical Rainbow Warrior, Jerris R. Hedges, MD, on the day before their two athletic departments were to face off on the football field at Aloha Stadium. Dr. Puliafito is Dean of the Keck School of Medicine at USC. Dr. Hedges leads UH’s John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM).
The football Trojans are in town to help start the season for the UH Rainbow Warriors on Thursday, August 29.
Dr. Hedges showed Dr. Puliafito and members of the Keck Development Team around JABSOM’s Medical Education Building, including a tour of the SimTiki Simulation Center, as Pediatric MD Residents at JABSOM were undergoing hands-on training using SimTiki’s simulated patients, high-tech robots called mannequins which can breathe, talk and generally simulate a “live” patient when controlled by the master simulation team of SimTiki.
