PARKING: The ABC’s of the new parking system in effect for Lot C

As of September 1, 2013, Lot C at the corner of Ilalo Street and Forrest Avenue (our major school parking area) is under the management of the Hawai`i Community Development Authority (HCDA). University of Hawai`i administrators and HCDA reached an agreement to allocate a number of paid passes for Lot C so that it may continue to be used by John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) students and employees.

NEW HOURS
The hours the parking lot’s accessibility are changing, too. Effective September 01, 2013 the hours of operations for Lot C will be weekdays, 6:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. If you need to leave the lot after 6:00 p.m., please request a security guard to open the gate for you to exit. JABSOM will try to negotiate a later closing time for the gate if needed.

How to pay
Employees will pay for their parking on a monthly basis, at $50.00 per month. Employees currently enrolled in payroll deductions will continue to have the deductions taken out of their pay. Parking passes will be distributed by your parking coordinator as soon as we receive delivery from the vendor.
Employees who did not opt for the payroll deductions need to pay for their monthly pass using cash or check. Be alert to the fact that:

• Cash must be EXACT CHANGE ONLY. $50.00
• Checks made payable to UNIVERSITY OF HAWAI`I
• You must bring a valid picture ID.

Important information about UH Mānoa Passes
University of Hawai`i Mānoa parking permits will not be valid to park in this lot beginning September 1st. The only exception is that Summer 2013 Lot C parking permits will be honored until September 06, 2013.

Some employees that were assigned Mānoa zones (at Mānoa) or JABSOM Lot B (which are still operated by UH Mānoa) have received their assigned permit for next academic year.
