The second annual Keiki Health Camp is coming to the University of Hawai`i John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014.
The event, on the grounds and in learning rooms at the UH medical school in Kaka`ako, is a half-day of activities for children that aim to teach them how they can make healthy choices related to nutrition, physical fitness, dental hygiene, sun safety, and other health topics.
“We plan to have approximately 100 children attending and we put a special focus on inviting children from local homeless shelters and elementary schools with a disproportionate number of lower socio-economic students,” said 4th-year MD student Andrew Bussey.
The JABSOM Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society hosts the Keiki Health Camp.
