WIG is an organization supports and encourages women in medicine through opportunities to network with female professionals and serve causes aimed at improving women’s lives. “Our purpose is to bring awareness to issues affecting women and to better their conditions,” said second-year medical student Crystal Lam (Class of 2016), a WIG co-president.

Lam said donations are needed to fund activities which include bringing in guest speakers for a women’s panel, supporting meetings, mixers, Movie night, a Mother’s Day project and various collaborations with Hawai`i women lawyers, Women’s Fund of Hawai`i, Hawai`i Women’s Legal Foundation and others.
