FAMILY MEDICINE: Half of the newest FM residency class will be JABSOM graduates

Family Medicine Program Director Lee Buenconsejo-Lum, MD, excitedly pronounced that 50% of the first-year residents in the Family Medicine Residency program will be graduates of the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) Class of 2014.

“Of the six incoming JABSOM Family Medicine Residents, three (50%) are Native Hawaiian and one of them (Kenneth Ortiz) is an `Imi Ho`ōla graduate, continuing our Department’s emphasis and mission to increase the primary care workforce with Family Physicians who are dedicated to improving the health of underserved populations in Hawai`i and the Pacific,” said Buenconsejo-Lum.
