Video by Deborah Manog, UH Student Journalist
The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) takes pride in its students and preparing them for their futures in medicine. In this video, six of our MDs-to-be (in the Class of 2014) describe how they have become ‘ohana (family) to one another over the past four years, and their hopes for the future.
Thank you to TJ Aldan (Future: Internal Medicine, Saipan), Kendra Dilcher (Future: Pediatrics, North Shore O`ahi), Kyle Shibuya (Future: Emergency Medicine–he hopes to help found and head an EM Residency in Hawai`i!), Kristen Teranishi (Future: Hawai`i Psychiatrist), Michelle Lee (Future: USAF Physician) and Nicole Mangiboyat (Future: Hilo OB-GYN), for sharing your stories with us!
The MD Class of 2014 receives their MD Degrees on Saturday May 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the UH Mānoa Stan Sheriff Center. The Class’ Convocation Ceremony is on Sunday, May 18 at 9:30 a.m., in the UH Mānoa Kennedy Theater.
We wish all of our MD Class of 2014 good luck as they begin their careers as physicians in residency training in Hawai`i and around the country!
