As part of the celebration of the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) 50th Anniversary in 2015, we are working on various video and print projects to showcase the school’s history, milestones and accomplishments. Unfortunately, many of the materials needed to document all this were lost in the storm that flooded JABSOM’s Mānoa campus in 2004.
We hope to find some hoarders among our alumni, faculty and staff who have saved photos, yearbooks – or anything else that we might use for this purpose. Please search in your closet, under your bed, out in the garage – anywhere you might find saved JABSOM memorabilia.
We will be happy to take these treasures off your hands – or scan and then return the originals to you – whichever you prefer. We have contracted a researcher/writer/historian to help and he will be working on this project during the summer. We would appreciate receiving your items by June 30.
Please ship your items to:
651 Ilalo St., MEB 22
Honolulu, HI 96813
Please call Joanne Ikehara at 808-692-0879 to obtain a FedEx number so there will be no cost to you for shipping.
Be sure to indicate if you would like the items returned to you or if you would like JABSOM to hold them for safekeeping. Clearly mark your items with your name, address, phone number and email so we may contact you with questions.
If you prefer to scan and send your items digitally, please send jpeg images of at least 300 dpi to email@example.com.
Mahalo nui loa for taking the time to hunt for treasures that will help us show the world how special JABSOM and its students are. And enjoy the trip down memory lane while you’re at it!
