The University of Hawai`i medical school’s COBRE and INBRE programs are honored to be selected by the National Institute of Health’s National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), the sponsor of the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) programs, to host the The Third Biennial Western Regional IDeA Scientific Conference October 6 through October 8, 2013 at the Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. The Western Regional states are comprised of Alaska, Hawai`i, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming. The conference is open to everyone. Other states and institutions are welcome to participate, especially local researchers from UH Mānoa, The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) and other affiliated partners.
The conference, being held for the first time in the Aloha State, is a great opportunity to forge collaborations and connect with other institutions to learn more about their research projects and programs. The scientific conference hosts are the Hawai`i IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) and Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) . The theme for this meeting is “One Biology,” in hopes of creating connections and collaborations from the bench to bedside, and to the broader community.
