The Hawai’i Community College Diesel Mechanics program went to visit Hawthorne Pacific Corp dealershi
p in Hilo, Hawai’i on Thursday, October 23, 2014.
Noel Foronda is the service manager for the Hilo branch. He was the
representative for the day and shared with the students all the different
types of equipments that are used in the industry.
The students had the opportunity to see and learn how the service department
and technicians function on a day-to-day basis.
The students had a chance to wash and grease a couple of different types of
machines. Some of the students had the opportunity to talk to some of the
heavy equipment mechanics and see some projects that they were working on.
