Hawai`i Community College Alumni and Friends sponsored its 10th Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Breakfast, prepared by Culinary Arts Program students, was served from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the HawCC Cafeteria; drive through service was available at the entrance to the Manono Campus (Building 378).
In conjunction with the breakfast, there was free blood pressure testing by the HawCC Division of Nursing and Allied Health and a country store with crafts, plants, produce, baked goods, artwork, and ceramic items.
Funds raised from the breakfast and country store are used for student scholarships awards and to support other student and faculty activities at the college (Career & Technical Education Award. See the application form available at:
http://hawaii.hawaii.edu/alumni/awards.php). The $500 scholarship recipients for the 2014-2015 academic year are: Whitney Cazimero (Nursing-WH), Ardis Eblacas (Early Childhood Education), Kimberly Escobar (Practical Nursing), and Marwin Palea (Diesel Mechanics).
HawCC Alumni & Friends is an organization which provides a key linkage between the College and Community. Membership is open to graduates, former students, faculty, staff, and those having interest in supporting the goals of HawCC.
