Kona Kohala Chefs Association announces Student Culinarian of the Year

Cameron photoA year ago at this time we were just completing a very challenging semester. Fortunately for the instructors, the incoming group of students was a pleasure to work with.

As their third semester drew to a close, the junior chefs and instructors were faced with the difficult task of choosing one student to represent the group as the most outstanding. This student is diligent in her studies, is sought after and complimented by local employers, and has represented her schools in competitions since high school. In December, she garnered accolades from nationally known chefs and leading American Culinary Federation (ACF) evaluators Reimond Peitz and Stafford DeCambra at the ACF Salon at KCC.  After the judges description of her dish, the entire audience gave a round of applause.

The Kona Kohala Chefs Association is proud to recognize Cameron Linden as our Junior Culinarian for 2014. Cameron is pictured above displaying her medal with Hawai’i CC lecturer Patti Kimball (left) and employer and owner of Jackie Rey’s Bar & Grill in Kona, Paul Streiter (right). Congratulations Cameron!
